Another day another heart ache
She packs up her books and heads to the next class
She waves to the teachers as they casually pass
She sees all her friends and the smiles they fake
And wonders how much more she can take
Her knuckles kiss a locker and she’s bleeding from her hand
She tells her friends she fell and they say they understand
[ Talking: ] You’re such a klutz, how do you just fall?
She smiles as they laugh
But inside she is screaming
“Why are you so stupid?
Cant you see the real meaning?”
When she gets home no one is there
She sits by her laptop as her face turns to a stare
She turns up the volume,
She unplugs the mic and she screams:
Testing 1, 2, 3
Is anybody there,
Can anybody hear me?
Testing 1, 2, 3!
I need someone’s hand to hold
I need someone’s love, before I grow cold…
Her cell phone rings at fifteen till eight
The ID says it’s a friend,
Her heart knows its someone she’ll hate
They want her to come to the late show
Cos she’s the only girl they all know
Who can laugh no matter what and in any situation
And makes jokes with little or no hesitation
But her heart hesitates on going
Yet her exterior isn’t showing
She’d rather sit in her comfort and drown the world in songs
She doesn’t want them to know that she doesn’t think she belongs
She hangs up the phone and wishes she had an excuse
She argues with herself, but knows its no use
Her outfit conceals her thoughts and makes her fit in
Her hair is neat and she wonders if this much lying is a sin
And the only flaw in her disguise
Is the water that slowly forms in her eyes
She walks downstairs to wait for the friends
And wonders if they know how much she pretends
The stereo in her room is on and she turns up the volume
She unplugs the mic and she screams:
Testing 1, 2, 3
Is anybody there,
Can anyone see me?
Testing 1, 2, 3!
I need someone’s thoughts on this
I need someone to tell me cos my reserves don’t exist!
I’m losing my words
I don’t know what to say
Its never happened before
But everything’s so cliché
I’m losing my words
I’m shutting my lips
Not by choice at all
But there’s a typo on these scripts!
